Obituary of Leonard H. Serusa

Leonard H. Serusa passed away in his home with family by his side on August 5th, 2026.  Born July 19th 1961 in Lockport, NY.  He was the son of Carl F. Serusa and Irene “Dee” Serusa.  

He was a security officer at DIS and retired Deputy Chief Auxiliary Police.

He cherished his family, friends, music, and serving his community.  He loved his German shepherds, watching basketball, playing poker, connecting with his Puerto Rican roots through food, riding his motorcycle, and talking people down to the lowest price possible at garage sales.  He also enjoyed critiquing singers on “The Voice”, watching late night COPS, and his guilty pleasure The Desperate Housewives as well as dining at La Ports and deer hunting.  

He is Survived by his daughters: Amanda Serusa (Garrett Cunningham), Alyssa Serusa, Ruby Serusa (Corey Weber).  Sisters, Carla Hart (Thomas) & Renee Diaz (Jonas) and brother Carlo Serusa Jr (Tina).  His 11 Grandchildren, Rylee, Brendon Leo, Gracie, Bronson, Logan, Enzo, Isla, Molly, Tyler, Axel, & Evie.  Nieces and nephews, Janine, Carlo III, Emily, Nick (Paulina), Dylan (Amanda), Brandy, and Laycie.  The mother of his children and lifelong friend, Rebecca Gill.  The Westcott’s, The Booth’s, and Morgan Soto, whom he always claimed as his family.  His dear friend, Paul Beakman (Leisl), his Auxiliary Police brothers & sisters and all those he worked with over the years that became long time friends.  

A Celebration of life will be held August 29th at 1pm at The Lockport VFW, 112 Caledonia Street, Lockport.
