Obituary of Janice Rae Adair

Janice Rae Adair passed away on Saturday August 15, 2026. Born in Lockport on August 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Virginia Mary (Williams) Stoops. Janice retired for Erie Community College where she was a professor teaching Computer Programming. After retiring from ECC, she worked at Amherst Transportation Services, where she worked for 25 years. She was working up until she died.  She was a 20-year member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and loved singing in the Choir at All Saint’s Parish in Lockport.

She is survived by her children Mark E. Adair, Molly E. Pelikan and Andrew Y. Adair.  She is also survived by her brother of Paul E. Stoops.  Her grand-children are Allison Adair, Nicole Adair, Melissa Pelikan, Rachel Pelikan, Renee Pelikan and Marissa O’Connor.

Friends may call on Monday Aug. 17th and Tuesday Aug. 18th 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, where prayers will be offered on Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM to be celebrated in All Saint’s RC Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport.
