Obituary of Eve Bizzell

Eve Taylor Bizzell passed away Tuesday December 10, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born April 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Walker and Esther Mayfield. Eve graduated from SUNY at New Paltz with a Bachelor's of Education and her Master's Degree in African Studies. She worked as Social Worker for Orange County, in Newburgh, NY. Eve was a Life member of the NAACP, a Girl Scout leader, Edeneezer Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxilliary at St. Luke's Hospital, YWCA, ASCAC, the National 100 Black Women Coalition and the National Social Worker Association. Eve was also involved in the City Council for Newburgh, NY and worked as a Journalist for the Evening News Newspaper, Newburgh NY.
Eve is predeceased by her husband Arthur Taylor, Sr. She is survived by her children Barbara (late Rev. Ralph) Taylor-Baylor, Bernard Taylor, Arthur (Meada) Taylor Jr. and Richard Taylor. She is also survived by her grandchildren JeMal Baylor, JaMelia Baylor-Stroud, Dara Taylor, Nadif Taylor, Aaron Kershaw, Jonathan Taylor and Jessica Taylor; and several great grandchildren. Eve was the sister of Minnie Williams, Sarah Sasser, Katherine Pan and the late Sam Walker, Rev. David Walker, Esther McBride, Mae Campbell and Lorraina Walker.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:30-11 AM, followed immediately by the funeral service at 11 AM in the Latter Rain Cathedral, 9 Bristol Avenue, Lockport. Interment will be in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
