Beverly Altie Cain passed away Saturday June 21, 2014, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls on May 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Genevieve Szafran Gross. Beverly graduated in 1965 from Wilson High School. She worked at Sherwood Selpac, the City of Lockport as a Crossing Guard and at the VA Hospital in the store. She enjoyed Bingo, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Cain Sr.; mother of Jack Cain Jr., Edward (Robin) Cain and James (Angela) Cain; grandmother of Clayton, Cameron and Lauren Cain. Beverly was the sister of Florence (Dick) Dale, Earl (Sharon) Gross, Jeanette (Clifford) Vick, Robert (Marty) Gross, Gary (Ruth) Gross, Donald (Kathy) Gross and the late Bill Gross. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday June 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8, with the service to immediately follow at 8 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263, would be appreciated by the family.
