Obituary of Alphonse Rosati

Alphonse "AI" Rosati, of Lockport, NY, passed away December 24,2008, at Buffalo General Hospital, after a long illness. Born October 20, 1944, in Lockport, he was the son of the late Emilio and Mary (Antonio) Rosati, and was a graduate of Lockport Senior High school class of 1963. After graduation, he was employed with College Inn, and then Guterl Steel, (former Simonds, Saw and Steel). When Guterl closed in 1983, he co-operated the Garden of Eatin&amp;#39; Restaurant in Clarence, for 5 years, and then became employed by Niagara County in the maintenance department of Mt. View Nursing Facility, until his early retirement in 1996, after bi-pass heart surgery. While at the county he held several offices with the ASME union, and upon retirement continued to attend the union functions and meetings as much as possible. Al attended Saturday morning coffee clutches with his friends at Tim Horton&amp;#39;s. And he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousins and buddies, along with fishing with his grandchildren on nice sunny day outings. Beloved husband of 40 years to Margaret (Moreland) Rosati, who survives him. Dearest father of, Mary Margaret (Major Stephen USMC) Blackmarr of Iwacuni, Japan and Alex J. Rosati of Lockport. Cherished grandfather to Ashley L. and Serenity M. Rosati, and his newborn grandson Keegan Thomas Blackmarr, who was born December 3rd, that he got to see on Logitech video cam several times. Loving sister Rosemary (Elliott) McCourt of North Port, FL. and caring brother-in-law of Robert (Joan) Moreland of Brookville, FL. He was the brother-in-law of the late Marilyn and Cork Thorp. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Lisa M Rosati, and her children Tyler and Lorial, 4 aunts, 10 nieces and nephews, 6 godchildren, many cousins, and his life-long best friend William DeCesare. Family and friends are invited to call at the Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, Friday, January 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be offered Saturday, January 3 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph RC Church, 391 Market Street. Lockport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 331 Alberta Dr., Suite 106, Amherst, NY 14226 or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friday, January 2, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home <h3>Services</h3> Saturday, January 3, 2008 Prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph&#39;s RC Church, 391 Market St., Lockport
