Frank F. Hartfiel passed away April 7, 2009 in Briody Health Care Facility. Born June 7, 1915 in Burt he was the son of the late Frank F. and Edelina (nee Teske) Hartfiel. Frank served in the US Army from 1942 to 1944 during WW II in the Pacific Theatre with the Signal Corps. He worked for 30 years as a truck driver for Alex Smith retiring in 1975. Frank was a member of the Old Guard, the Dale Association and Local #449 Trucker Union. He was a handyman, avid gardener; a local historian enjoyed sharing stories about Old Lockport with his friends and family and had a keen interest in antique cars. Frank was predeceased by his wife Alice (nee Marcks) Hartfiel on February 6, 1985. Frank is survived by his two sisters Edith Ranney, Martha Enzinna and was predeceased by his sisters Hattie Higgins, Agnes Wittkop, Gertrude Bennage, Lena Hartfiel, Mabel Verheyn and brothers Fred, Otto, William and Walter Hartfiel. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends may call Friday 2-6 PM in Prudden &amp; Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7147 Ridge Road, Lockport. Memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Organ Fund, 7147 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated.
