Obituary of Rita Joan Lasal

Rita J. (Shaffer) Lasal, 82 years of age, passed peacefully October 27, 2019 in Niagara County Hospice.  Rita was born December 7, 1936 in Lockport, NY.

Rita is survived by her loving children, Jeffrey K. Lasal (Deborah C. Lasal) and Julie A. Hayes Greene (James Greene).  Grandchildren are Kaitlyn Lasal, Christian Lasal and Collin Hayes.  Mother Ruth Shepard (103) and sister Annette Hare.  She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate Ken Lasal after 64 years of marriage who passed in February of this year.

Rita retired 11 years ago from being an Office Manager at Dr. Mark Mahaney’s dental practice.   

Being a wonderful, caring and loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother was her priority in life.  She always put everyone else first and found joy in making her family happy. 

Rita had a passion for her two cats Ellie and Fluffie, weeding and gardening outdoors, and making favorite foods for her family.  She will be remembered for her generosity, strong work ethic and determination, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY  14094.  Services will be immediately following visitation at 4 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials or donations may be made to Niagara County Hospice.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
