Obituary of Curtis L. Snowden, Sr.

Curtis L. Snowden Sr. passed away at home on March 30  2021 under the care of Hospice and his loving family. He was born on November 15, 1952 in Princess Anne County, Virginia a son of Lucille (Schuyler) Snowden and the late Walter Snowden.

Curtis held a Bachelor’s degree from Kentucky State University, majoring in Physical Education with a minor in health. He worked at Wende Correctional Facilities as a Rec. Program Leader and Special Subject Supervisor, and retired in 2014. He enjoyed playing golf and exercising, but most of all being with family.

Curtis was predeceased by his wife Sonja (Reed) Snowden in 2020. He is survived by his children Ashley E. Snowden, Curtis (Ashley) Snowden, Melissa Tolbert, Vivian (Anthony) Billie, Daszell (Jackie) Taylor, Shantell and Valerie Taylor; loved by 12 grandchildren; siblings Mary (late Abraham) Johnson, Walter C. (Dotress Nelson) Snowden, Jr., Boston Snowden, Geraldine (Walter) Amos, Milton R. Snowden, Jackson (Beatriz) Schuyler and a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday April 2, 2021 from 4-7PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home 242 Genesee St. Lockport, NY. Private services will be held with interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
