Obituary of Richard Newton

Richard A. Newton passed away February 28, 2011 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born March 16, 1939 in Royalton he was the son of Francis and Mary Agnes (Michaels) Newton. Richard served in the US Army from 1962 to 1964 and worked as a tow motor operator for Harrison Radiator. He was an avid fisherman, NASCAR fan, and enjoyed playing basketball through the years at the YMCA. Richard was a member of the Screwball Club and the Redmen Club.
Richard is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Kolb) Newton of Lockport; father of Tracy Lynn (Craig) Jensen, Jodie (John) Hawkins and Kyle Newton; grandfather of Russell, Michael and Emily; brother of Francis Newton of Las Vegas and John (Barbara) Newton; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Friday 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. Lockport where prayers will be offered Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Donations to Roswell Park Cancer Institute would be appreciated.

A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Saturday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.

Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
