Obituary of Albert Gritzmacher

Albert M. Gritzmacher, Sr. passed away January 31, 2013. Born May 31, 1925 in Lockport, he was the son of Albert D. and Frances M. (Geser) Gritzmacher. Al was a graduate from Lockport High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Canisius College. He served in the US Navy (SeaBees) from 1943-1946, in the 136th NCB and 72nd NCB during WW II. Al worked for Bell Aerospace for 21 years and also for the City of Lockport at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. He was a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lockport, Dale Association, NSVA Island X-8, Tonawanda and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling and singing.
Al is survived by his wife, Patricia (Foltz) Gritzmacher of Lockport; father of Albert (Bobbi) Gritzmacher, Jr. of Lockport, Mary (Alfred) Moretti of Rhode Island, Joan (Richard) Allis of Albion, Barbara Fellabick, Susan Gritzmacher, both of Lockport, John Gritzmacher of Niagara Falls and Mark (Gayle) Gritzmacher of North Tonawanda; grandfather of Frank Gritzmacher, Bryan Gritzmacher, Melissa Gritzmacher, Michael Allis, Sarah Fellabick, Matthew Gritzmacher, Andrew Gritzmacher, Jonathon Gritzmacher and the late Albert Gritzmacher III; brother of Eunice (Richard) Brown of Syracuse, Daniel (Ruth) Gritzmacher of Lockport, and the late Dudley J. Gritzmacher; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, Feb. 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport.

Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
